Student Spotlight: Brittany Lawrence

Sophomore Brittany Lawrence hails from Center, Texas, where she currently resides. She has several interests regarding her major, but she has decided that she wants to earn an associates degree in Chemistry. Following her Panola graduation she wants to transfer to Rice University in Houston where she plans to work towards a Ph. D. in Chemistry or a S.J.D. in Law. Brittany decided to attend Panola because it was close to home and offered great scholarships.

Brittany was very involved in extracurricular activities in high school. Not only did she maintain a job at Sonic, she was also a played clarinet in the Center High School Band, and  she was a Texas State qualifier for the Lincoln-Douglas UIL Debate program in the year 2015. Following up on this, she currently judges high school LD debates and looks forward to debating at Rice University.

She said that “My life is pretty boring, I go to work, I go to school, and I GO TO SLEEP. ” Upon further questioning, she revealed that  she occasionally gets together with her friends and plays poker. She claims she has never lost. Her favorite television show is Breaking Bad and her favorite music genre is rap. She particularly enjoys listening to the Notorious B.I.G., NWA, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Logic, and Kendrick Lamar, among others.
