Poultry Festival returns


Starting Thursday, October 6 to Saturday, October 7 the town of Center, Texas will host its annual Poultry Festival. Students and faculty from Panola College will be present at the festival, ready to provide information pertaining to the college. Shelby County is one of the four counties in the Panola College service area.

Taking place at the historical downtown square, the festival will consist of a plethora of events. The most well-known event is the chicken fajita competition, however there will also be quilting, photography, and arts and crafts competitions. Attendees can also participate in the Chicken Run 5k benefiting CASA of Deep East Texas

There will also be booths and various games and activities located around the square. Some of these booths will no doubt be selling food and refreshments, as well as funnel cakes.
