Panola College will host the 2018 Texas State Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival on Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 7-9.  Five Texas colleges and universities will bring productions to the Q.M. Martin and Elizabeth R. Hedges Studio Theatre stages.

Scheduled are Panola College’s “I Gelosi” by David Bridel, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 7  in the Q.M. Martin Auditorium. Richland College will present “The Shadow Box” by Michael Cristofer at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, followed by North Central Texas College’s production of “Spook” by David Bowne at 6 p.m. Panola College will perform “Gruesome Playground Injuries” by Rajev Joseph in the Studio Theatre at 10 p.m.

TAMU-Kingsville will begin Friday’s events with an 11 a.m. performance of “Junebugs,” an original script by Corey Ranson. SFASU theatre students will wrap up the competition with “Sweat” by Lynn Nottage, at 7 p.m.

“One of the amazing parts of the state festival is how one travels the show,” said Karen King, Panola College drama professor. “These schools are bringing their entire company and set to our stages.  This will be an incredible opportunity to see some of the best college work in the state for one low price.”

Tickets are available in the form of a festival pass, allowing purchasers to attend all six production for the one-time price of $5.  Group discounts are available for area schools and colleges.  Panola College faculty, staff, or students may obtain a pass at no charge by showing their school ID.
