The M.P. Baker Library at Panola College will host author Stewart Fillmore at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25 in the Community Room of the M.P. Baker Library. He will discuss his new book, Tenaha: Corruption and Cover-up in Small Town Texas.

Fillmore retired from the FBI in 2016 after a 29-year career. He says he was investigating the Tenaha case when it took a strange and deadly turn. According to Fillmore, he uncovered levels of lies and corruption, centering on drug-dealing and a mysterious death. CNN had featured the story of a lonely stretch of highway in rural East Texas where motorists were claiming that they were being targeted by law enforcement. Fillmore will share the story in person, and will also have books available for purchase and signing.

Fillmore and his wife and family live in Tyler. An avid tennis player, he enjoys playing the guitar and tinkering on the banjo. He owns a private investigation company.

The presentation is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 903-693-2052 or email [email protected]
