Panola College partners with Marshall Regional Arts Council and Marshall Place for art gallery

The new art gallery, inside Marshall Place, is now open to the public.

The Marshall Regional Arts Council, Marshall Place, and Panola College have partnered to create an art gallery inside Marshall Place. The gallery is now open to the public.

“I was thrilled when approached by Claudia Lowery, Executive Director of the Marshall Regional Arts Council, about a need for a local gallery space,” said Amanda Clements, Professor of Art at Panola College. “The idea of the newly renovated space in Marshall Place was brought up and things started falling into place.”

The gallery opened Thursday, July 30 by showcasing Life in Focus 2020, a juried art show that will be on display through August 22.

“People will be able to view and study art,” said Clements. “We have many exhibits scheduled with many more possibilities ahead.”

In the year ahead, the gallery will showcase exhibits from Panola College students and faculty, as well as an art show titled Hindsight 20/20 by Claudia Lowery. Individual artists will also showcase work including Amanda Clements, William Nieberding, Mary Jean Davis, and many others.
