Panola College to hold blood drives Nov. 5, Nov. 21


Panola College has a longstanding commitment to sponsoring blood drives.

Panola College Marshall will hold a blood drive from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at the campus location in the Marshall Mall, Community Drive, 1300 East Pinecrest. Then, on Thursday, Nov. 21, Panola College in Carthage will hold a second blood drive from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. inside the Health and Natural Sciences Building.

“Someone needs blood every two seconds,” said Laura Wood, Director of Harrison and Marion County Operations and Marshall College Center.

Appointments are not necessary. Donors may also stop by either location the day of the blood drive and should bring a photo ID.

Wood said blood donations are needed to help people fighting cancer or sickle cell anemia, or those who are needing surgery or suffered in an accident. “Your donation could impact the life of someone you know, someone you meet, or your closest loved one,” she said.
