Panola College accepting Hurricane Harvey donations

Panola College will collect donations for Hurricane Harvey victims through noon on Thursday, Aug. 31, for delivery to Houston and other affected areas this weekend, September 1-3.

People interested in donating items should drop them off at the Fitness Center Desk in the Matthews Student Center or to the Office of Institutional Advancement in the Miller Administration Building. Donations can also be dropped off at the Shelby Regional Training Center in Center until 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31.

Panola College donations will be delivered to Rehobeth Methodist Church, 126 CR 207 on Highway 59 North, on Friday. Rehobeth Church is serving as the local collection point for all community donations.

Requested items include: bottled water, canned and nonperishable food, garbage bags, paper cups and plates, plastic utensils, paper towels, blankets, washcloths and towels, pet supplies (food and snacks), baby supplies (bottles, formula, baby food, diapers), children’s items (books, drawing, coloring books and crayons), first aid kits, bandages, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, combs, brushes, razors and shaving cream or gel, toilet tissue, and feminine hygiene products.
