Before tipoff in the game on Wednesday, Feb. 27, Panola College recognized the eight sophomore players on the Men’s Basketball team.

#1 – LeNell Henry – from Chicago, Ill., transferred to Panola College from Northern Arizona University. He is a member of the Region 14 All-Academic Team. He averages 12.2 points per game and 8.4 rebounds. He will graduate from Panola College in May and plans to attend a university in the fall.

#2 – Tariq Simmons – from Columbia, S.C., transferred from the Citadel. Tariq averages 11.8 points per game and has 3.4 assists per game. He will graduate from Panola College in May and plans to attend a university in the fall.

#3 – Tylan Dean – from Ruston, La., is a two-year letterman for the Ponies. He was escorted by his mother, father, step dad, step mom and grandmother. He has played in 41 games and counting. Tylan averages 9.8 points per game and shoots 40 percent from 3. He will graduate with honors from Panola College and will attend a university in the fall.

#4 – Franklyn Penn, Jr. – from the British Virgin Islands, transferred from New Mexico Junior College. He averages 8.2 points per game and 5 rebounds. He will graduate in May and attend a university in the fall.

#11 – Josh Williams – from Katy, Tex., transferred from South Dakota University. He is a member of the National Honor Society. He averages 7.4 points per game and shoots 48 percent from 3. He will graduate in May and attend a university in the fall.

#12 – Keiondre Jefferson – from Morrillton, Ark., transferred from Three Rivers Junior College. He has been out the second half of the season with a broken hand, but before, was averaging 9.8 points per game. He will graduate in June and will attend a university in the fall.

#15 – Raymone Lampkin – from New Orleans, La., is a two-year letterman for the Ponies. He has been a part of 41 wins and counting. He averages 2.2 points per game and 4 rebounds. He will graduate in May and will attend a university in the fall.

#23 – Jeffrey Boyd – from Homewood, Ill., is a two-year letterman for the Ponies. He has been a part of 41 wins and counting. He averages 8.9 points per game and shoots 45 percent from 3. He will graduate from Panola this summer and attend a university in the fall.
