The M.P. Baker Library will host an exhibit of fiber art by local artist Vickie Lacy from February 26 through April 5 in the Fay Allison Gallery. A reception for the artist will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28 in the foyer of the Library. The exhibit is entitled “Stepping on to My Straighter Path.”

Lacy’s work has been displayed at the 2016 Fiber Arts Show of the Sacramento, California Fine Arts Museum, and other arts venues. She has an extensive listing of awards, shows, workshops and lectures over the past 21 years.

Lacy earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of North Texas in Denton with an emphasis on clothing design and fashion merchandising. Later, she earned a master of science degree and a doctorate in educational administration and business management from Texas A&M University in College Station. She also completed a master of arts in school counseling from the University of Texas at Tyler, and a certification as a Law of Attraction Life Coach from the Quantum Success Coaching Academy.

The exhibit is free and open to the public during the library’s operating hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and Sunday, 4-9 p.m. For more information, call 903-693-2052 or email [email protected]
