Fillies excel in tournament play

The Fillies opened up the weekend with a sweep of NCTC 25-13, 25-19, 25-20. Sophomore MB Haley Hampton led with 15 kills, sophomore OH, J’Keisha Evans contributed with 7 kills and a solo block. Freshman OH Jaci Ledkins had a breakout match with 6 kills and freshman libero picked up 10 digs to anchor the defense. Sophomore setter Ana Kiso tallied 30 assists and 8 digs and freshman RS Nathali Chaves had 5 aces.

In the second match of the day Panola College swept Neosho 25-17, 25-17, 25-23. J’Keisha Evans paced the offense with 11 kills and 2 blocks. Freshman OH Kennedi Coleman hit .400 with 10 kills, Nathali Chaves contributed heavily with 6 kills, 7 digs, and 3 aces. Ana Kiso had 28 assists and 10 digs.

Saturday opened up with a very good Lee College squad, who the Fillies took down in 4, 22-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-20. Kennedi Coleman and J’Keisha Evans led the offense with 14 and 11 kills. Ana Kiso had 30 assist and Justine Luis picked up 16 digs in the win.
Panola College dropped the final match of the day to a very scrappy TVCC team in 4 25-17, 17-25, 23-25, 20-25. Kennedi Coleman and Nathali Chaves had 19 and 12 kills apiece. Ana Kiso contributed 35 assists and 11 digs and Justine Luis had a career high 27 digs in the effort.Panola returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Temple College for their second match up of the season.
