Hey everybody! My second year is going to the end. The time flies so fast. I feel like just yesterday I came to America for the first time. I feel like just yesterday I started to learn a new culture, new language, and new country. I feel just like yesterday I landed in Dallas and my first thought was: “God please help me to survive here!” These two years at Panola College gave me a lot of new things, new people and recognizing who I am. It is a great experience that I will never forget. It turned out that my first acquaintance with America was with a small town in East Texas. I am happy that it happened. There live the nicest people! They taught me how to speak English, they taught me how to play American basketball, they taught me how to celebrate American holidays, and they taught me how to be a part of American society.

Living far away from your home you begin to appreciate more simple things like seeing your mom every day, saying “Good morning” to your brother, kissing your dad before you go to school, and enjoying your traditional food. In addition to this, you begin to understand how important some people are for you. In the everyday routine, you may forget to text your mom and say that you love her because you know that you will go home in a few days and you will see her. Unfortunately, when you’re far away from your mother and you know that you will not be able to see her in coming days you can only text her… So let’s just always remember about our families and do not forget to text or call them.

I am so thankful to all people who were with me these two years. I am thankful to my professors who helped me with my homework, with my misunderstanding, who answered all my questions, who helped me to learn English, and who patiently corrected all my stupid mistakes.

I am so thankful to my Coaches! They are the best. They have done a great job to make me who I am now. There were many ups and downs, happy and sad moments, wins and losses. But we made it! This season is forever in my heart! Also, I am thankful to my teammates who made this season unforgettable! I hope, we will meet in a few years and will be like “Hey, do you remember that season 2017-18 when we became Conference Champions?” haha

I am so thankful to my American family who took me as their own child and helped me to adapt to everything new. They did not even worry that I barely could speak English. Looking how they live I understood the foundations of the American lifestyle. I started to feel American culture. I started to understand people and talk to them. It was very interesting to tell about your country and to learn about new one.

I had a great experience that changed me as a person and made me open to everything new. Now I am ready for a new level in my life but Panola is a part of me forever!

THANK Y’ALL!!!
