Instructor Vickie Townzen presented certificates to eight CNA students who completed the Elite class.

Eight Certified Nurse Aide students completed an Elite class recently. Panola College faculty recognized the students with a ceremony at the Marshall campus on Friday, Oct. 18.

Students included April Bison, Karnack; Jarnai Hill, Carthage; Millisan Jackson, Marshall; Samantha King, Hughes Springs; Daisy Reyes, Longview; Janet Reyes, Marshall; Vannan Roden, Marshall; and Makeleana Sash, Ore City.

The Elite class was funded by a grant written by Rebekah Burkhalter and included sessions on Physical Health and Aging, Mental Health and Aging, Ethics in Nursing, Basic Life Support CPR, and Spanish for Health Care. Vickie Townzen, LVN, was the course instructor.

“These students were engaged and hands-on, and did exceptionally well with an exceptional educator,” said Betty Gruber, RN, CNA Coordinator.
