Students recognized for academic excellence
Panola College faculty members selected 16 outstanding students to receive 2014 Academic Excellence Awards in a ceremony held at 4 p.m., Monday, April 21 in the Q.M. Martin Auditorium.
Dr. Gregory Powell welcomed students and guests, praising the students for their achievements. Daron McDaniel, professor of speech, introduced speaker Dr. Lillian Cook, former Vice President of Instruction for the College. Dr. Cook’s message was titled “Dream Bigger.”
Award winners include Kady Armstrong, Vocal Music; Teresa Blackwell, General Business; April Broomfield, Accounting and Economics; Charlotte Fannin, Office Professional; Anneth Garcia, Education; Angeli Gladney, English; Shelby Hammons, Medical Lab Technology; Ruby Johnson, Computer Information Technology, April Kruger, Occupational Therapy Assistant; Stephen Lewis, History; Christin Lindgren, Drama; Rachel Mukweyi, Criminal Justice; Robert Petty, Math, Kelly Piedra, Associate Degree Nursing; Joshua Renfro, Communication; and Joumana Tabch, Government.
