SGA’s president, Noah Butler, has organized the Amendment Committee in an effort to pass an amendment to the Texas Constitution. The proposed amendment would eliminate congressional immunity, which protects congress representatives which in session, get misdemeanor changes. These include, but not limited to, driving drunk, speeding, assault, prostitution, and marijuana.

The Amendment Committee meets every Thursday in the library at 4:30 pm. “We have our research done, but are looking for two or more people to help with typing it up who want to be included in the making of Texas history!” said Butler.

For more information about joining the Amendment Committee, contact Butler or join SGA in their regular 12:30pm Friday meetings in the library’s Texas Room.
