Ponies split road series
Panola College Ponies traveled to Brenham on Tuesday, Feb. 19 for a doubleheader with Blinn College. Panola won Game 1…4-3 behind a strong pitching performance by FR Hunter Palmer. Hunter pitched 5 innings allowing only 1 earned run to pick up his first win. FR Robbie Petty pitched the final 2 scoreless innings to pick up his 1st save of the season. FR Clint Cage led the Ponies by going 3-4 with a 2B and a RBI.
The Ponies dropped game 2…3-2. After trailing the entire game, Blinn won it in the bottom of the 7th inning by taking advantage of the young Pony bullpen. FR Preston Guillory threw 6 solid innings for the Ponies wile taking the no decision. FR Jacob Blissett was 3-3 at the plate. FR Greg Martens was 2-4 with a 2B, and SO Derrian James added 2 hits for the Ponies.
