Panola Rodeo Team Takes 2nd Place – Campbell leads the way with another victory in Bullriding
Stephen Campbell started the spring semester Rodeo Tour off where he left off by winning the TVCC Rodeo this past weekend. Stephen has been sitting in first place all year in the Southern Region Bullriding and has extended that lead even further with the win in Athens, TX.
Campbell led the way with a score of 158 points of Panola’s Men’s team total of 320 points which took second place in the TVCC Rodeo. They finished second only to McNeese State University. Other rankings at the rodeo were Hill College – 3rd, Sam Houston State University – 4th, Trinity Valley C. C. – 5th, Northeast Texas – 6th, Wharton Jr College – 7th, Lone Star College – 8th, Southwest Texas Jr. College – 9th and Texas A&M finished 10th.
Corey Fussell won 3rd in the saddle bronc riding to help the Panola team with 130 points and Jacob Choate tallied 139 points with a 5th place finish in the bareback competition. Cody Gibs rounded out the points for Panola with a 5th place finish in the steer werestling.
Panola’s next rodeo will be on March 7-9 in Kingsville, TX, hosted by Texas A&M – Kingsville.
