Students from four world continents converge at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Communication 1307, Introduction to Mass Communication, taught by Teresa Beasley.

Daria (Dasha) Eremeeva from Russia, Emily Glawson from California, Stefany Lourenco from Brazil, and Bamise Dami (Esther) Oderinde and Patience Nene Okpe, both from Nigeria signed up for the class.

Eremeeva, Lourenco and Okpe are all Panola College women’s basketball team members.

“It’s fun to watch as these students interact with each other as we explore the role of Mass Communication around the world,” Beasley said. “I admire their courage and determination in coming so far from home to Panola College in East Texas, and I admire their ability to speak more than one language. I would be lost in Russia or Brazil. It’s so much fun to see these students encourage and support each other in my class. It’s going to be a great semester.”
