Sophomore Nick Marshall is coming to school at Panola College all the way from Huntington Beach, California. He has lived in Huntington Beach all his life. Marshall likes the change of scenery and environment there is by moving from California to Texas.
“Being so far away from my hometown is a lot different,” Marshall says. “For example the weather is very different, but I enjoy the type of people and the outdoor life here compared to all the cement back home.”
The only reason Marshall came to live in Texas was due to receiving a baseball scholarship to play catcher and first baseman on the Panola Ponies. He hopes he will be playing baseball in the future and not just stop playing after playing here.
“One thing I really like at Panola besides playing baseball is the tight knit community there is on campus,” Marshall says.
He is majoring in mechanical engineering and is going to continue to study this once he transfers to try to eventually become a Disney Imagineer. Having this dream motivates him to continue his education and to try his best.
