Last second shot lifts Blinn past Ponies

With 1.2 seconds left in the game, Blinn scored a basket, ending the game with a score of Blinn 56, Panola 54 on Wednesday, Jan. 12. The ending was almost identical to the Fillies’ loss by a last-second shot earlier in the evening.
Marquis Yates, #11 freshman from Manassas, VA, led scoring for Panola College with 19 total points. He made two of his three free-throw attempts.
Ben Merritt, #1, a sophomore from Logan Township, NJ, had 12 points and was four for four at the free-throw line.
JaRon Denmark, #23, a Huger, SC, sophomore, scored 11, and made four of his five free throws.
Three players scored four points each — Gilbert Carter, #3, a Houston freshman; Joe Williams, #2, a freshman from New Orleans; and Patrick Branch, #5, a Las Vegas, NV freshman.
