Darby’s passion is dancing

Darby Shankle is a 17-year-old Junior at Marshall High School. She is currently # 10 in her class, and is a Panola College Dual Credit Student. Darby was selected to attend Rotary’s Camp Ryla this year. She was also nominated and selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum for Medicine in Houston, TX.  Darby was selected to participate in Leadership Tomorrow, sponsored by the Marshall Chamber.

Band, Color Guard, and Winter Guard have been a part of Darby’s life throughout high school. She was Color Guard Captain this school year, and was voted Captain again for next year. Her talent is something she taught herself,  and displayed by her many awards. She won first place for Individual Color Guard dance at the Louisiana State Fair this year and second place for Modern Solo.

Darby was voted class favorite her Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year of high school. Her faith in Jesus Christ is also very important to her. She plans to attend NSU after high school.
