Construction begins on apartments
Construction on the new sixty-four person residence hall behind Rodeo Hall is underway. The new building, which has been two years in the making, will display similar features to those of the current student apartments. Unlike the current apartments however, the new rooms will have stand up showers instead of bathtubs with shower fixtures. The bathrooms will also have a linen closet for additional storage. The floors in the new rooms will be wooden with a tile finish in the bathrooms. Demolition of Rodeo Hall, excluding the laundry room, won’t begin until after students move out at the end of the spring semester. The new residence hall is scheduled to house its first students in the fall of next year. Panola College has long terms plans of erecting several new buildings, such as a new science building and a new student center.
