To be a CNA is like getting a foot in the door to becoming a nurse. In order to get into a CNA class at Panola College for credit hours, students should go to the Student Success Center located in the Martha Miller building. In order to get in the class you will need your; identification card, shot record, and have your shots up to date (TB and Hepatitis B shots are main vaccines needed). The classes are offered in Carthage, Center, and Marshall. Class times and dates vary depending on the location and teachers. Students wanting this class for continuing education the cost will be $490 and the cost for a student taking the course for credit hours will be included in your tuition. In the class you will learn proper hand washing, assisting residents with their daily needs, and communicating with the residents…etc. At the end of the class a state test will be given, and if passed students will receive their certificate and be able to work in long-term care facilities, hospitals, home health, private sitting and now more doctors offices are requesting for CNAs.
